How to Use
This tool calculates the area of an irregular quadrilateral (four-sided polygon). You can input the shape in two ways:
1. Coordinates Method
Enter the (x,y) coordinates for each of the four points (A, B, C, D) either by typing in the input fields or by clicking on the canvas.
2. Sides & Angles Method
Enter the lengths of all four sides and at least two angles (recommended to enter angles at A and B). The calculator will determine the shape and calculate its area.
Features
- Visual Editor: Click on the canvas to place points or drag existing points
- Unit Conversion: Select from meters, feet, or inches
- Grid Options: Toggle grid visibility and snapping
- Save/Load: Save your current shape and load it later
- Export: Export the results to PDF
- Comparison: Compare multiple shapes side by side
Notes
The calculator uses the Shoelace formula for coordinate-based calculations and trigonometric methods for side-angle inputs.
For the shape to be valid, it must be a simple quadrilateral with no intersecting sides.
